Yonathan Gonzalez
Radiologic Technology
When he was in high school, a teacher discussed a lot of potential career options with Yonathan Gonzalez's class. Of all the careers she talked about, pursuing radiology stood out to Gonzalez.
"There were other options she proposed," Gonzalez said. "But X-ray was one that got my interest."
Gonzalez chose Delaware Tech because it allowed him to stay close to home and he had heard good things about the radiologic technology program. He said enrolling in college was always a goal.
" want to be able to support my family as well as myself," Gonzalez said. "I am also the oldest, so I want to set an example for my siblings."
During his time at Delaware Tech, Gonzalez said he has seen a lot of positive improvements in himself. He started out mostly keeping to himself but has since bonded with his classmates in the radiology program.
"I have met some awesome people and have formed a close relationship with them that goes outside of the classroom," Gonzalez said.
He also had to learn work-life balance and time man年龄ment, as he tried to make time for family and friends while studying and maintaining good grades.
"It is easy to get distracted at home," Gonzalez said. "You have to put the phone down and get away from any distractions to dedicate time to study."
After graduation, Gonzalez plans to start working in the radiology field immediately.
"I have an idea of where I want to secure a job, so I want to work as soon as possible," he said.
